El Centro, California - Monday, the Imperial County Board of Supervisors held its regular meeting.  Following are highlights of the meeting:

El Centro, California - The Imperial County Fire Department and Office of Emergency Services is currently on scene of a 2nd alarm fire located at the 1400 block of Evanhews Highway. Units on scene have reported a fully engulfed hay barn with multiple exposures. Current operations are focused into containing and exposures.

Imperial, Arizona -  IID Board President Erik Ortega: "Today the House Natural Resources Committee and Senate Energy Committee introduced legislation to authorize the federal Drought Contingency Plan.

El Centro, California - Today, a troubled person climbed a structure/tower at 5th and Broadway and indicated his dire wishes to officers and crisis negotiators on scene. Just prior to 6:30 PM, the man came down from the structure and was safely taken into custody. He will be taken to the appropriate local facilities through Imperial County Behavioral Health Services who equipped to deal with suicidal persons.

El Centro, California - Imperial County Behavioral Health Services is partnering with Alvarado Parkway Institute Behavioral Health System to bring Jackson House, a short–term acute residential mental health and addictive disease treatment facility, to El Centro.  This will add much needed behavioral healthcare beds to the community.
