El Centro, California - Last night at 10:11 PM, Officer Daniel Crankshaw from the El Centro Police Department attempted to conduct a stop a Hispanic Male Adult (HMA) on a bicycle in the area of 1000 N. Imperial Avenue. The officer had seen the suspect in the area of Imperial and Villa with two other males on bikes prior to attempting his stop. The officer followed the suspect for a short distance in the area prior to attempting to stop him. When ordered to stop by the officer, the suspect refused, and the officer pursued him and was able to catch up to him in the area of #2 southbound lane of Imperial Avenue.

El Centro, California - Today, at approximately 12:30 in the morning, ECPD Officers were dispatched to the area of 4th Street and Desert Gardens Drive, for a call of a traffic accident involving a vehicle vs pedestrian.  The pedestrian, later identified as a 54-year-old transient resident of El Centro, was found on scene unconscious and had obvious signs of head trauma as a result of being struck by the vehicle.  Medical personnel arrived on scene shortly thereafter and attempted to resuscitate the man however to no avail. The man had succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead.

El Centro, California - Deputy D.A. sick-out….All the Deputy District Attorney’s called in sick this morning.

El Centro, California - Tuesday morning, just prior to 8 o’clock, there was a vehicle versus pedestrian at the intersection of 8th and Orange.  The vehicle, a white truck, struck a child on a bicycle at the intersection.

El Centro, California - This morning just after 3:30 am, The El Centro Police department received a call of smoke seen coming from the building at 6th and Main (formerly Brooks Jewelry).
