Imperial, California - Imperial County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce Correctional Lieutenant Juan Chavarin being seated as President of the Southern California Jail Managers Association (SCJMA).  Lt. Chavarin was elected into a Board position in 2017 and has transitioned from Secretary of SCJMA into the President for 2019.

SCJMA is an association formed by jail managers in the early 1990’s as a means to communicate, network, train, and stay abreast of changes in correctional policies for individuals responsible for managing a jail in southern CA.  SCJMA has sister associations; Northern CA, Central CA, and Bay Area Jail Managers.

Lt. Chavarin has worked for Imperial County Sheriff’s Office since 1997.  Sheriff Loera and his team are excited to watch Lt. Chavarin’s year as President unfold and keep Imperial County involved in worthwhile associations.
