New York - A former precious metals trader at the New York offices of a U.S. bank and a Canadian bank pleaded guilty Thursday to attempted price manipulation of precious metals futures contracts, announced Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and Assistant Director in Charge William F. Sweeney Jr. of the FBI’s New York Field Office.

Washington, DC - Attorney General William P. Barr has directed the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to adopt a proposed Addendum to the Federal Execution Protocol—clearing the way for the federal government to resume capital punishment after a nearly two decade lapse, and bringing justice to victims of the most horrific crimes. The Attorney General has further directed the Acting Director of the BOP, Hugh Hurwitz, to schedule the executions of five death-row inmates convicted of murdering, and in some cases torturing and raping, the most vulnerable in our society—children and the elderly.

Washington, DC - First Lady Melania Trump attended the 2019 VSA International Young Soloists Competition concert this evening on the Millennium Stage at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Friday night’s concert came from the Kennedy Center’s Office of VSA and Accessibility, a Jean Kennedy Smith Arts and Disabilities program at the Kennedy Center that serves the international disability and arts community. The concert highlighted the talents of five young artists who performed two songs each for the audience.

Washington, DC - In 1953, the Korean Armistice Agreement ended more than 3 years of brutal fighting against communist expansionism and tyranny on the Korean Peninsula. On National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day, we honor the brave patriots who secured freedom and democracy in the Republic of Korea, and we pay tribute to the more than 23,600 Americans who were killed in action and the more than 103,000 who were wounded in that conflict.
