Washington, DC - Thursday, we commemorate the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty between the United States and what was then the Soviet Union. This landmark arms control agreement has been a pillar of international security and stability since its inception. By eliminating an entire class of the most destabilizing weapon systems, the INF Treaty served as a key component to building and reinforcing strategic stability in the later days of the Cold War. It played a key role in securing the Euro-Atlantic region and set in motion the negotiations for a series of agreements to stabilize the post-Cold War relationship between the United States and our allies and the former Soviet Union.

Washington, DC - On July 25, the United States sanctioned five individuals involved in a complex network of bribery and money laundering that has been stealing from the people of Venezuela for years, as well as an additional five individuals and 13 entities connected to these corrupt actors. Among the individuals involved were Maduro’s three stepsons (Walter, Yosser and Yoswal), and Colombian businessman, Alex Saab, the orchestrator of the corruption network, and sons of First Lady Cilia Flores.

Sacramento, California - A 16-count superseding indictment by a federal grand jury was unsealed Tuesday against Darron Dimitri Ross, 33, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Joshua Bilal George, 36, of San Diego, including charges of conspiracy to defraud and commit crimes against the United States, theft of government property, aggravated identity theft, wire fraud, and money laundering, U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott announced.
