El Centro, California - Friday, afternoon, the Imperial County Registrar of Voters issued another “Unofficial Election Results” update on the Registrar’s website, for the June 5, 2018 Primary Election. The unofficial update includes all polling place voters, vote-by-mail ballots and approximately 400 provisional ballots. This is not a final tally of all ballots.
Another update is expected to be issued tomorrow that will include some of the remaining provisional ballots. A final tally of any currently unprocessed ballots is expected by Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Results will remain unofficial until the election is officially certified. Pursuant to elections code, the County Registrar of Voters must report their final results to the Secretary of State by July 6, 2018, thereby certifying the local election results.
The Registrar’s staff will continue to work diligently to complete the election canvassing process and update the public of results in a timely manner. The Registrar’s office thanks the public for their patience as the Registrar’s office continues to conduct canvassing for this election.
