El Centro, California - The City of El Centro is excited to invite the public to a ground breaking ceremony for the El Centro Aquatic Center. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 8:30 am in the 500 block of Park Avenue (in Adams Park).

The new facility will be comprised of an eight-lane competition pool, lazy river, warm-up pool, activity pool, and an Aquatic Building that will include a snack bar, party/training room, bathroom/shower facilities, and miscellaneous offices. The Aquatic Centers total project cost is $15 million. The project is being funded by Redevelopment Agency Tax Allocation and Revenue Bonds along with Local Transportation Authority funding. It is expected to be completed in August of 2019.
