Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:
Tyson Eckerle, 34, of Sacramento, has been appointed deputy director of zero emission vehicle infrastructure at the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, where he has served as zero emission vehicle infrastructure project manager since 2014. Eckerle has been executive director at Energy Independence Now since 2011, where he was associate director from 2009 to 2011. He served in several positions at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, San Francisco District from 2002 to 2007, including regulatory project manager, biologist, recruitment coordinator and environmental planner. Eckerle earned a Master of Science degree in environmental science and management from the University of California, Santa Barbara. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $110,004. Eckerle is a Democrat.
Alexander Sherriffs, 64, of Fowler, has been reappointed to the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District Governing Board, where he has served since 2011. Sherriffs has been a physician at the Central California Faculty Medical Group since 1985 and a physician in private practice and professor at the University of California, San Francisco, Fresno Center for Medical Education and Research since 1983. Sherriffs earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. This position requires Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Sherriffs is a Democrat.
