Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:
Yvette Chappell-Ingram, 67, of Altadena, has been reappointed to the Dental Board of California, where she has served since 2013. Chappell-Ingram has been president and chief executive officer at the African American Board Leadership Institute since 2011. She was president at the California Legislative Black Caucus Foundation from 2006 to 2010, principal at Ingram and Associates from 2004 to 2006 and vice president of development at College Bound from 2001 to 2004. Chappell-Ingram was regional manager at the United Negro College Fund from 1997 to 2001, where she was a project manager from 1992 to 1995, and director of development for LA's BEST from 1995 to 1997. She was a consultant in private practice from 1989 to 1992 and a financial analyst at ARCO from 1978 to 1989. Chappell-Ingram earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Southern California. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Chappell-Ingram is a Democrat.
Edcelyn Pujol, 56, of Danville, has been appointed to the Dental Hygiene Committee of California. Pujol has been a financial advisor at Frontier Wealth Strategies Inc. since 2012. She was a financial advisor at Northwestern Mutual from 2010 to 2012 and a financial planner at Sampson Investment Management from 2006 to 2010. Pujol is a certified financial planner. She is a member of the Filipina Women’s Network. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Pujol is a Democrat.
Betsey Marie Foote, 64, of Porterville, has been appointed to the California State Independent Living Council. Foote was a licensed vocational nurse at Lifehouse from 2014 to 2015 and at Maxim Healthcare Services from 2013 to 2014. She was a licensed vocational nurse and charge nurse at the Valley Care Center from 2010 to 2012 and at the Sierra Valley Rehabilitation Center from 2009 to 2010. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Foote is a Democrat.
Peter Timothy Mendoza, 49, of Novato, has been appointed to the California State Independent Living Council. Mendoza has been owner at MendozaGo Personal Assistant Services LLC since 2015 and an advocacy team leader at the Marin Center for Independent Living since 2014. He was systems change coordinator and a community organizer at the Independent Living Resource Center of San Francisco from 2013 to 2014 and a program manager and client assistance program coordinator at the Center for Independent Living from 2010 to 2012. Mendoza was a community service officer at the St. Mary’s College of California Public Safety Department from 2001 to 2010 and at the Ross Department of Public Safety from 1996 to 2001. Mendoza was a civilian crime prevention officer at the San Anselmo Police Department from 1994 to 1999, an attendant services advocate specialist at the Marin Center for Independent Living from 1992 to 1993 and an employment counselor at Careers Abound from 1990 to 1992. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Mendoza is a Democrat.
