Sacramento, California - Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia joined Speaker Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego), and the California Legislative Women’s Caucus as they presented the women’s economic security agenda today at the State Capitol.
“I stand here today alongside my colleagues in support of the proposed women’s economic security agenda. Together, we must continue working and securing economic opportunities for all women in California. As a member of the Select Committee on the Status of Girls and Women of Color, I look forward to furthering the discussion on policy issues that affect the lives of girls and women in the workplace and employment,” said Garcia.
The agenda is based on four pillars:
- Fair Pay and Job Opportunity – SB 358 (Jackson)
- Access to Childcare – SB 548 (de León/Atkins) and LWC budget ask
- Family-Friendly Workplaces – AB 357 (Chiu/Weber)
- Building Economic Stability by Addressing Poverty – SB 23 (Mitchell) and AB TBD
