Sacramento, California - The Sacramento Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) seeks assistance from the public to identify a woman whose body was found in the greater Seattle, Washington area more than 25 years ago. The King County Sheriff’s Office has been unable to reveal the woman’s true identity despite more than two decades of investigation and assistance from the FBI to follow a trail of false information.

Sacramento, California - A quarantine has been declared due to a Mediterranean fruit fly (Medfly) infestation detected in Riverside County, in the Perris area. Nine males, three mated females and nine larvae were detected between December 10 and 30th. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Riverside County Agricultural Commissioner, and the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) are working collaboratively on this project.

San Diego, California - A four-day old gorilla is attracting crowds at the San Diego Zoo, where guests are eager to get a peek at the newborn. The male infant was born early in the morning on December 26 to mother Jessica, 34, and father Paul Donn, 25. This is Jessica’s first offspring with Paul Donn, who has previously sired three offspring. Jessica, an experienced mother, has had five previous offspring, all of whom were male.

Brown Jr. will take the oath of office as Governor of California, deliver his inaugural address and swear in Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar and Leondra Kruger to the California Supreme Court and Alex Padilla as California Secretary of State on Monday in Sacramento. On Tuesday, he will participate in the official California High-Speed Rail groundbreaking ceremony in Fresno and on Friday, Governor Brown will propose the 2015-16 budget in Sacramento.
