Trump traveled to Orlando, Florida, where he addressed the International Association of Chiefs of Police and announced $42.4 million in new grant awards for law enforcement that will fund more than 50 innovative projects through the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy’s (ONDCP) High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Program. The announcement highlights several creative law enforcement approaches currently being used to tackle the Nation’s drug crisis such as using new technologies to track overdoses and overdose deaths.

As I have stated previously, Iran’s filings before the ICJ are a misuse of the Court for political and propaganda purposes. Iran brought this case in 2016 to challenge measures the United States adopted to deter Iran’s support for terrorist attacks against the United States and others, as well as to respond to other internationally destabilizing actions taken by Iran.

Atlanta, Georgia - Nearly 14 million additional adolescents (11-12 years of age) beyond those who will be vaccinated based on current rates will need to receive the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine between now and 2026 to reach the American Cancer Society’s goal of an 80% vaccination rate by that year. The figure comes from a new report from American Cancer Society investigators looking to guide HPV cancer control efforts in the wake of recent goal-setting. The report appears early online in Cancer.

Atlanta, Georgia - The cancer burden in Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory with a 99% Hispanic population, is substantially different from that of Hispanics in the continental U.S., according to Cancer Statistics for Hispanics/Latinos, 2018. The report, published every three years, says that men in Puerto Rico have higher prostate and colorectal cancer rates than non-Hispanic whites (NHWs) in the continental U.S, in contrast to U.S. Hispanics as a whole, who have lower rates for these cancers.
