California Firm Recalls Beef and Pork Products Due to Foreign Matter Contamination

Washington, DC - Unibright Foods Inc., a Bell Gardens, California, establishment, is recalling approximately 48,139 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat sukiyaki beef and gingered pork products that may be contaminated with metal extraneous materials, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

Washington, DC - The U.S. Government has contributed $1 million to the International Atomic Energy Agency for a new project that will improve and streamline efforts to diagnose the Ebola virus in Africa. Of the total U.S. contribution, $650,000 is provided through the IAEA’s Peaceful Uses Initiative and $350,000 through other extra-budgetary contributions to the IAEA.

There are 16 of them along the state’s perimeter, staffed by state employees dedicated to protecting our food supply and environment from invasive species. Each year, the Border Stations intercept thousands of potentially dangerous invasives before they can enter California.
