New multi-year initiative launched to step up global response to trafficking in persons and the smuggling of migrants

Brussels - The European Union (EU) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) today launched the Global Action to Prevent and Address Trafficking in Persons and the Smuggling of Migrants. A four-year joint initiative between the EU and UNODC, the programme will be implemented in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) through to 2019.

The water year (WY) runs from October 1 to September 30; the contract year for most CVP contractors runs from March 1 to February 28.
