Quartzsite, Arizona - Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents working near Quartzsite, Arizona arrested a convicted child molester and three other Mexican nationals Sunday.
Early Sunday morning, Blythe Station agents began tracking a group of four subjects who walked around the Highway 95 Immigration Checkpoint. The agents located the subjects and determined them all to be Mexican nationals illegally in the United States. They were arrested and transported to Blythe Station for processing.
During routine processing and records checks, one of the subjects was identified as 36-year-old Alonzo Bustos-Trujillo, a previously deported Mexican national convicted of child molestation in Bellflower, California, in 2011. He was sentenced to 365 days in jail and five years of probation for that crime. It was also determined during the interview process that Bustos-Trujillo was headed from Yuma to Los Angeles.
Bustos-Trujillo is being prosecuted for re-entry after deportation. The other three Mexican nationals were processed for immigration violations.
