Guatemala City, Guatemala - The Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) has selected Miller Hull Partnership of Seattle, Washington, as the design architect for the new U.S. Embassy in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Miller Hull Partnership will develop the concept design for the new facility.

The multi-building complex will be situated on a 9.44-acre site in the Zone 16 neighborhood of Guatemala City, and will include a chancery, a support annex, a Marine Security Guard residence, and utility, warehouse, and parking facilities. A design/build construction award to complete the design and build the facility is anticipated in fiscal year 2016.

OBO’s mission is to provide safe, secure, and functional facilities that represent the U.S. government to the host nation and support our staff in the achievement of U.S. foreign policy objectives. These facilities should represent American values and the best in American architecture, engineering, technology, sustainability, art, culture, and construction execution.
