San Diego, California - Earlier today San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl officials announced the kickoff time for the 91st annual Navy vs. Notre Dame rivalry game. The October 27 contest, hosted by the SDCCU Holiday Bowl, will kick off at 5:00 p.m. PT at SDCCU Stadium. The matchup will be televised nationally on CBS.
The Midshipmen and Fighting Irish have played each other every year since 1927, making it the longest uninterrupted intersectional rivalry in college football. This year is the first time the two teams will meet west of the Eastern Time Zone.
The game will mark the Notre Dame football team’s first appearance in San Diego. Navy has played in San Diego seven times, which includes an appearance in the inaugural Holiday Bowl in 1978 and four Poinsettia Bowl games.
“We’re really looking forward to hosting this historic college football rivalry game at home here in San Diego,” said Del Lewis, 2018 president of the SDCCU Holiday Bowl. “The kickoff time surely will maximize the number of viewers from coast to coast who will be tuning into to enjoy the CBS broadcast. It’s going to be an exciting event for our region and we’re proud to be bringing it to our community.”
Annual San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl ticket holders receive priority on the best seats for the game.
