Norco, California - Navy Lt. Patrick Hearn may do pretty well in Sunday's 42nd Marine Corps Marathon, if home-court advantage works for marathoners. He will be competing against 50,000 other runners and representing a very competitive 10-member U.S. Navy team.

Rochester, Minnesota - More than a half million kids play hockey in the U.S., and there’s an ongoing effort to keep them from getting hurt. The national governing body for the sport, USA Hockey, places a priority on educating players, coaches and parents on how to enjoy the sport safely.

Montreal, Quebec - On October 18, Pat Fletcher will be inducted into the B.C. Golf Hall of Fame.  Fletcher retains the title of "The Last Canadian" to win this prestigious championship.  The late Pat Fletcher, a Victoria native and longtime professional of the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club and The Royal Montreal Golf Club, won the Open July 17, 1954 at Vancouver's Point Grey Golf and Country Club.

Washington, DC - Members of the legendary American basketball team Harlem Globetrotters are traveling September 19-30 as U.S. Department of State Sports Envoys to Estonia and Lithuania. These Sports Envoys are helping to bolster the United States’ cultural and social ties with the government and people of two long-standing partners and strong NATO Allies.
