Washington, DC - On Tuesday, December 11, 2018, the President signed into law:
H.R. 1074, which repeals the act that granted the State of Iowa jurisdiction over crimes committed on the Sac and Fox Indian Reservation;
H.R. 2422, the “Action for Dental Health Act of 2018,” which establishes a new Action for Dental Health Campaign and to reauthorize existing programs for the dental workforce;
H.R. 4254, the “Women in Aerospace Education Act,” which amends authorities of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the National Science Foundation to provide support for training in the aerospace sector;
H.R. 5317, which repeals a section of the Trade and Intercourse Act of 1834, which prohibits distilleries from manufacturing certain alcohol in Indian country;
H.R. 6651, the “PEPFAR Extension Act of 2018,” which extends certain provisions of the U.S. Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Act of 2003;
S. 440, which directs the Secretary of the Interior to convey all rights, title, and interest of the United States in certain land around the Dickinson Dam and Reservoir to the Dickinson Parks and Recreation Department and the State of North Dakota;
S. 1768, the “National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program Reauthorization Act of 2018,” which reauthorizes the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program; and expands the requirements on the Departments of Commerce, Homeland Security, and the Interior, and the National Science Foundation related to earthquake research, preparedness, and mitigation;
S. 2074, which directs the Secretary of the Interior to convey all rights, title, and interest of the United States in certain land around the Jamestown Dam and Reservoir to the Stutsman County Park Board and the State of North Dakota; and
S. 3389, which redesignates a facility of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration as the Katherine Johnson Independent Verification and Validation Facility.
