Blaine, Washington - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations at the Peace Arch Port of Entry, detained a 40-year-old McFarland, California, woman Friday when a systems check revealed she was the subject of a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) warrant for burglary in the second degree, criminal trespass in the first degree and contributing to delinquency of a child.

The warrant was issued by Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office in Phoenix, Arizona. After confirmation of the warrant, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office took custody of the woman and transported her to the Whatcom County Jail pending extradition to Maricopa County.

“CBP officers remain diligent in their efforts to intercept wanted individuals,” said Area Port Director Kenneth Williams. “Our work is vital to protecting the homeland and officers consistently do an outstanding job of taking people off the street that may pose a concern to our communities.”

NCIC is a centralized automated database designed to share information among law enforcement agencies including outstanding warrants for a wide range of offenses. Based on information from NCIC, CBP officers have made previous arrests of individuals wanted for homicide, escape, money laundering, robbery, narcotics distribution, sexual child abuse, fraud, larceny, and military desertion.
