Washington, DC - The United States and Cuba held a government-to-government claims discussion in Washington, D.C., today, 2016. The U.S. delegation was led by Brian Egan, the Legal Adviser for the U.S. Department of State. The meeting allowed the countries to exchange further details on outstanding claims and build upon the previous claims discussion in Havana, Cuba. It also allowed for an exchange of views on historical claims settlement practices and processes going forward.

Washington, DC - Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. has agreed to sell the rights and assets related to 79 pharmaceutical products to settle FTC charges that its proposed $40.5 billion acquisition of Allergan plc’s generic pharmaceutical business would be anticompetitive. The remedy requires Teva to divest the drug portfolio to eleven firms, and marks the largest drug divestiture order in an FTC pharmaceutical merger case.
