London, England - The story goes that Beethoven had a pal who presented his wife with what was purportedly a lock of Ludwig’s hair. 

The famed composer set the record straight declaring that it was not snipped from his scalp, but from a goat, reports the Association of Mature American Citizens. So, he replaced the bogus clipping with an authentic lock of his hair, which was auctioned off in the U.K. recently bringing in some $45,000.
