New Jersey - They really get into the holiday spirit in New Jersey, according to the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC]. A woman bound for home ran out of gas on the Interstate there. She was short on cash but a homeless man saw she was in trouble and walked to a nearby gas station to purchase fuel with his last $20.
So moved was the driver that she started a gofundme.com campaign to help her down-on-his-luck benefactor, presenting him with no less than $60,000 in hopes of getting him back on his feet again. Meanwhile, a Secret Santa elsewhere in New Jersey ponied up more than $10,000 to pay for the toys on lay-away plans of strangers. He also shelled out another $2,000 to buy items he then donated to the charity, Toys for Tots.
