Washington, DC - The U.S. Department of State, in partnership with FHI 360 and the University of Pennsylvania, has released a new Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for budding entrepreneurs around the world to obtain the English skills needed to work in an international arena. The English for Business and Entrepreneurship MOOC is currently open for enrollment and will begin on May 15. By strengthening the quality of English teaching around the world, the Department seeks to enhance skills that expand opportunities in education, employment and international collaboration.
Throughout 2016 and 2017, four more MOOCs will be released on the following topics: journalism; media literacy; career development; and the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. Each MOOC course will use games to offer an interactive experience, and all of the open source materials may be modified, re-used and re-distributed for any purpose during or after the courses.
