El Centro, California - El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Indio station collaborate with Yuma Sector and Mexican officials to find and apprehended a wanted murderer residing illegally in the United States yesterday.
At approximately 9:40 a.m., agents assigned to the Indio Station, acting on intelligence provided by the Yuma Sector and Mexican officials, arrested Armando Flores Jimenez, a 42-year-old Mexican citizen, outside of his residence in Riverside County.
Flores has an active Homicide Warrant in Mexico, for two murders in 1993 and 1998.
“This is a great example of the importance of professional collaboration between law enforcement entities on both sides of the border to keep dangerous criminals out of our communities and our nation safe,” said Acting Chief Patrol Agent Roy D. Villareal.
Flores has been turned over to Mexican officials.
Last fiscal year, El Centro Sector had 14,511 apprehensions of persons attempting to enter the United States illegally.
