Washington, DC - Congressman Juan Vargas (CA-51) released the following statement regarding the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act of FY 2015. The bill includes funding for both the San Ysidro and Calexico West Land Ports of Entry as well as funding for the Salton Sea Research Project.
“I am very pleased that the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act of FY 2015 includes much needed funding for vital projects in my district,” said Vargas. “Although funding for the San Ysidro POE, Calexico West POE, and the Salton Sea is very good news, there are other issues with this piece of legislation. I am in the process of reviewing the 1600 page document, and continue to work in a bipartisan manner with my colleagues in Congress to pass a common sense bill to fund the government.”
The bill includes $216, 828,000 for Phase 2 of the San Ysidro Land Port of Entry in San Diego as well as $98,062,000 for Phase 1 of the Calexico West Land Port of Entry. Additionally, the bill also includes $300,000 for the Salton Sea Research Project.
