Washington, DC - U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Heather Higginbottom will deliver remarks to Canadian Youth Ambassadors on Thursday, at 3:30 p.m. in the Delegates Lounge at the U.S. Department of State.
Fifteen Canadian Youth Ambassadors are participating this year in a three-week exchange focusing on civic education, youth leadership development, and social inclusion. The group includes First Nation, Inuit, and Métis youths, and represents the geographic, ethnic, and socioeconomic diversity of Canada. The Youth Ambassadors Program, established in 2002 at U.S. Embassy Brasilia, brings together outstanding young people between the ages of 15 and 18 from throughout the Americas to participate in enrichment programs focused on promoting cultural understanding, increasing leadership skills, and preparing youth for making a lasting difference in their communities.
