Washington, DC - The U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced that the seventh session of the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) will be held in Washington, D.C., in late June.

Secretary of State John Kerry and Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew will be joined for the Dialogue by their respective Chinese co-chairs, State Councilor Yang Jiechi and Vice Premier Wang Yang, along with members of the Chinese delegation and their U.S. colleagues.

The Dialogue will focus on the challenges and opportunities that both countries face on a wide range of bilateral, regional and global areas of immediate and long-term economic and strategic interest.

The U.S. Department of State also announced today that Secretary Kerry will participate in the sixth annual U.S.-China Consultation on People-to-People Exchange (CPE) in coordination with Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong.

The CPE will be held in late June in Washington, D.C.

The CPE promotes and strengthens people-to-people ties between the United States and China in the fields of education, culture, health, science and technology, sports, and women’s issues. It provides a high-level annual forum for government and private-sector representatives to discuss cooperation on exchanges in a broad, strategic manner.
