\Imperial, California - The Imperial County Air Pollution Control District is issuing a Smoke Advisory. Smoke from surrounding wildfires in Mexico, San Diego County and other ongoing fires within Imperial County have potential to impact air quality indicators. Should meteorological conditions continue in this pattern impacts to sensitive receptors is possible.
Therefore, the ICAPCD is advising all individuals, especially those with respiratory issues, heart or lung disease, infants and older adults to take appropriate precautions such as, but not limited to, limiting their activities outdoors. If you experience symptoms related to coughing, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, or other respiratory issues contact your health care provider immediately.
The level of smoke and associated particles greatly depends on many factors like changes in wind speeds, direction, and also control and containment efforts. The ICAPCD will also continue the current NO BURN status for the remainder of the week and will re-evaluate burn status at that time.
