Washington, DC - On Friday, December 20, 2019, the President signed into law:
H.R. 1138, which reauthorizes the West Valley Demonstration Project;
H.R. 2333, the “Support for Suicide Prevention Coordinators Act,” which requires the Government Accountability Office to conduct a study of the suicide prevention coordinators within the Department of Veterans Affairs;
H.R. 3196, the “Vera C. Rubin Observatory Designation Act,” which designates the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope as the “Vera C. Rubin Observatory”;
H.R. 4566, the “Virginia Beach Strong Act,” which clarifies income tax benefits for charitable cash contributions made between May 31, 2019, and June 1, 2021, for the relief of the families of the dead or wounded victims of the mass shooting in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on May 31, 2019;
S. 50, the “Columbia River In-Lieu and Treaty Fishing Access Sites Improvement Act,” which authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to assess and improve sanitation and safety conditions at traditional fishing sites along the Columbia River;
S. 216, the “Spokane Tribe of Indians of the Spokane Reservation Equitable Compensation Act,” which provides for compensation to the Spokane Tribe of Indians for the use of tribal land for the production of hydropower by the Grand Coulee Dam; and
S. 256, the “Esther Martinez Native American Languages Programs Reauthorization Act,” which reauthorizes and modifies a grant program to preserve and maintain Native American languages.
