Laredo, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Freer Border Patrol Checkpoint located on U.S. Highway 59 seized cocaine and arrested a female Mexican national.
The seizure occurred on August 3, when a white SUV entered the Border Patrol checkpoint for an immigration inspection. The agent conducted an immigration inspection on the driver, a Mexican national, and referred the vehicle to secondary inspection after a canine alert.
At secondary inspection, agents discovered 45 bundles of cocaine. The total weight of the bundles was 116.49 lbs (52.95 kg) with an estimated value of $3,727,680.00.
The driver was arrested and processed accordingly. The case was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
