Brawley, California - Today, Congressman Juan Vargas congratulates Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo, Inc. in Brawley, California for receiving $691,667 in federal grant funding. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell announced $101 million in Affordable Care Act funding for 164 community health care centers throughout 33 states. This funding is to ensure the delivery of vital health care services to various communities in the country.
“I was very pleased that Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo will receive this funding to continue providing comprehensive primary care services to residents throughout Imperial County,” said Vargas. “This award recognizes the positive impact of their work in the Imperial Valley and will enable them to continue their mission to serve countless families and individuals.”
Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo, Inc. is a private, non-profit corporation that provides primary care services to the communities throughout Imperial and Riverside County. Established in 1970, it was the first migrant health center established in the nation by the federal government. Clinicas de Salud del Pueblo will receive $691,667 in funding of the $101 million announced today.
