El Centro, California - Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia invites interested community members to attend an information session on the new California law (AB 60) that provides undocumented immigrants the opportunity to apply for a driver’s license. The event will be held Thursday, February 19th from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm at the William Condit, IID auditorium in El Centro.
“Nothing is more important than having safer roads in the Valley and having properly licensed people driving on them—and this workshop will help us obtain that goal. It is very important that those interested in applying for a driver’s license know the process and this workshop will make sure people know the steps so they can better prepare themselves,” said Garcia.
Representatives from the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), California Highway Patrol, the Mexican Consulate, the Department of Insurance and Comite Civico del Valle will all be hand to assist and review requirements for interested applicants and how they can prepare for the application process that began earlier in the year.
