El Centro, California - Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 28th the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) will hold a California Advanced Services Fund Public Forum in El Centro focusing on bridging the digital divide and regional broadband deployment priorities.
As part of the implementation of Assemblymember Garcia’s AB 1665, Internet for All Now Act, the CPUC will be conducting a series of public workshops throughout the state to receive input on regional needs, develop partnerships and strategies to expand broadband access.
“Internet access has become a passport to a myriad of critical health, public safety, economic, and educational opportunities. By extending funding into the California Advanced Services Fund, through AB 1665, we can help expand access to this modern day necessity for our state’s most vulnerable communities; remote rural areas like those in Imperial County,” stated Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia. “I am grateful that the California Public Utilities Commission has accepted our invitation to conduct a public forum in Imperial County. These connections are essential to ensuring our community gets its fair share of investments.”
