Seattle, Washington - A giraffe was born at Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo. It weighed in at a healthy 155 pounds but, reports the Association of Mature American Citizens, was suffering from misaligned rear legs. The Zoo was quick to seek a cure, creating a pair of custom-made shoes fashioned from plywood and high-density plastic.
Veterinarian Tim Storms says the remedy is a work in progress. As he put it, “we’ll continue refining and improving our approach to find a good balance between supporting his limbs and strengthening his tendons.”
