San Diego, California - San Diego Zoo guests are invited to ring in the holiday season at the Zoo’s annual celebration, Jungle Bells presented by California Coast Credit Union. The holiday merriment begins December 13, 2019 and runs through January 5, 2020, (except for December 24, when the Zoo closes at 5 p.m.). During Jungle Bells, the Zoo will be transformed into a wild wonderland with twinkling lights, animal-shaped light sculptures, special animal experiences and holiday-themed entertainment, including music, high-flying acrobats, the zany Dr. Zoolittle and the Zoo’s costumed characters. Santa, the jolly ol’ elf himself, will be here too, through December 25.

Something new has been added this year: Aurora, a multi-sensory winter spectacular with lights, projections, music and more...will transport guests to a world they’ve never seen before, filled with wonder, wildlife, and winter charm.

Guests also can enjoy tasty holiday treats at the Zoo’s many restaurants and food stands. Don’t miss out on holiday shopping at the Zoo’s retail locations, or the holiday happy hour at Albert’s Restaurant "Happy Holidays Happens" with discounted drinks and appetizers available from 3 to 5 p.m. each day of Jungle Bells.

The San Diego Zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. during this event, with the exception of December 24, when the Zoo closes at 5 p.m.
