Imperial, California - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the agency responsible for securing U.S. borders from all threats, is accepting applications for CBP officer positions at the following locations: Arizona (Douglas, Lukeville, Nogales), California (Calexico, San Ysidro), North Dakota (Pembina, Portal), and Texas (Laredo, Presidio).

An applicant for a CBP officer position must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of the United States for the past three years; must be referred for selection prior to their 37th birthday (or a preference eligible veteran or have prior civilian federal law enforcement experience); and have a valid driver’s license. In addition, applicants must pass an entrance examination, medical examination, physical fitness assessment, video-based test and/or structured interview, drug test, background investigation and polygraph examination.

Due to mission critical needs, the agency is offering a Student Loan Repayment or Recruitment Incentive for the following locations; Lukeville, AZ; Portal, ND and Presidio, TX. The student loan repayment pays $10,000 per year for three years for federally-ensured student loans. The recruitment incentives pay 25 percent of an employee’s base pay (including locality per year for three years). A service agreement is required prior to entering on duty. This incentive applies to new federal employees only and is dependent upon the availability of funds.
