Edinburg, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents discovered the bodies of three deceased people in South Texas.
On Thursday, the McAllen Border Patrol station responded to a report of a deceased person in the Rio Grande near Havana, Texas. The U.S. Coast Guard and La Joya Fire Department assisted in the recovery of the deceased from the water.
On Saturday, a U.S. Coast Guard riverine unit patrolling the Rio Grande near Mission, Texas, informed the McAllen Border Patrol station that they had encountered a deceased person. The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office along with Mission Fire Department responded and recovered the deceased from the river.
In both cases, a local Justice of the Peace ordered the deceased to be transported to the county morgue.
On Sunday, Kingsville Border Patrol agents patrolling ranchlands in Kenedy County encountered the body of a deceased person in the brush. Agents reported the discovery to the Kenedy County Sheriff’s Office, who alongside a local Justice of the Peace, pronounced the individual deceased. The deceased was then transported to the medical examiner’s office.
