Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:

Adam Tauber, 56, of Citrus Heights, has been appointed assistant director of the Division of Recycling at the California Department of Resources, Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), where he has served as interim assistant director since 2018 and served in several positions from 2004 to 2018, including supervising/lead attorney and supervising attorney. Tauber was acting chief counsel at the California Department of Conservation from 2008 to 2009, where he was staff counsel from 2000 to 2004. He was an attorney and decision writer at the U.S. Social Security Administration in 1999, attorney/advisor in the Disaster Assistance Office at the U.S. Small Business Administration from 1994 to 1999 and an attorney at the Alameda County Bar Association from 1993 to 1994. Tauber earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Whittier College School of Law. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $162,684. Tauber is a Democrat.

Daniel Rubin, 32, of Sacramento, has been appointed chief counsel at the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, where he has served as staff attorney and acting chief counsel since 2013. He was a policy assistant at Conservation Strategy Group LLC in 2013 and a graduate fellow at the California Energy Commission from 2012 to 2013. Rubin was a law clerk at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California in 2011 and at the California Department of Water Resources in 2009. Rubin earned a Juris Doctor degree from Lewis and Clark Law School. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $164,592. Rubin is a Democrat.

Jason Kenney, 34, of Roseville, has been appointed deputy director of the Real Estate Services Division at the California Department of General Services, where he has served as acting deputy director since 2018 and held several positions from 2016 to 2018, including assistant deputy director, chief of the Project Management and Development Branch and deputy director of strategic planning. He was chief of the Business Management Branch at the California Department of State Hospitals from 2014 to 2015, where he was chief of the Acquisitions and Business Services Office from 2013 to 2014. Kenney was asset management manager at the California Department of Motor Vehicles from 2011 to 2013, where he was an associate governmental program analyst from 2010 to 2011 and a staff services analyst from 2009 to 2010. He was a staff services analyst at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation from 2008 to 2009, where he was an office technician in 2008. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $179,004. Kenney is a Democrat.
