Washington, DC - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved TPOXX (tecovirimat), the first drug with an indication for treatment of smallpox. Though the World Health Organization declared smallpox, a contagious and sometimes fatal infectious disease, eradicated in 1980, there have been longstanding concerns that smallpox could be used as a bioweapon.

Washington, DC - Forget about the threat of socialism or even communism; the real threat comes from those who want to foist Idiocracy down our throats. Merriam-Webster defines Idiocracy as “a form of government in which a country or territory is run by fools.” And, the madness of anti-government protests that have swept the country since the election of President Donald Trump indicate that the fools are hell bent on taking over.

Las Vegas, Nevada - We don't sign up for Obstacle Course Races, Boot Camp Battles and CrossFit Competitions because we are ready to compete. We don't sign up because we are in good enough shape or have been putting in the work. We are nervous, scared, and we sign up because we want to see if we can do it. We want to see if we will work harder, knowing the competition is coming. We want to train for a purpose beyond weight loss and health.

Washington, DC - So we went used car shopping recently – the FTC and 12 other law enforcement agencies. We visited 94 dealerships in 20 cities across the country. Yes, we saw some low-mileage cream puffs, but that’s not what we were in the market for. We wanted to see if dealerships were displaying the revised Buyers Guide required as of January 28, 2018. The results proved interesting.

Washington, DC - Twenty-two women entrepreneurs from 13 African countries arrive in the United States this week to connect with their American counterparts and accelerate the growth of their businesses. The businesswomen in this year’s African Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP) join a network that has created thousands of jobs and over 20 women’s business associations in sub-Saharan Africa. The initiative promotes business growth and increases trade both regionally and with U.S. markets through the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

Washington, DC - The United States and China jointly hosted a regional workshop on Counter Nuclear Smuggling from July 10 - 12, 2018, at the China National Nuclear Security Center of Excellence outside of Beijing. This collaboration reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to partner together against the threat of nuclear terrorism. This was the first time the United States and China co-hosted a regional workshop on this topic, which brought together participants from Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
