Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:
John Blacklock, 71, of Magalia, has been reappointed to the 3rd District Agricultural Association, Silver Dollar Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2005 and served from 1994 to 2003. He has been owner at John Blacklock Consulting since 2001. Blacklock served as chief administrative officer for Butte County from 1992 to 2001, an assistant to the manager at the Glenn-Colusa Irrigation District from 1991 to 1992 and as a field coordinator in the Office of California State Senator Jim Nielsen from 1983 to 1990. He served as an administrative aide and clerk at the Solano County Board of Supervisors from 1977 to 1983 and was assistant land manager at Leslie Salt Co. from 1970 to 1976. Blacklock is a member of the Butte County Farm Bureau. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Blacklock is a Republican.
Robinette Cook, 42, of Gridley, has been reappointed to the 3rd District Agricultural Association, Silver Dollar Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2005. Cook has been president at Cook Communications and Public Affairs since 2012, where she has held several positions since 2002. She served as a staff assistant in the Office of Congressman Wally Herger from 1997 to 2002 and as a member of the California Student Aid Commission from 1995 to 1997. Cook was a member of the Butte-Glenn Community College District Board of Trustees from 1994 to 1996. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Edward McLaughlin, 69, of Durham, has been reappointed to the 3rd District Agricultural Association, Silver Dollar Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2002. McLaughlin has been owner at Emac Farms since 1972. He served as a member of the Butte County Board of Supervisors from 1985 to 1997. McLaughlin is a member of the Chico Elks Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He earned a Master of Science degree in agriculture from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Pat Fulton, 68, of Bayside, has been reappointed to the 9th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Acres Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2008. Fulton has been owner and manager at Fulton Trucking LLC since 2012 and at Pat Fulton Ranches since 1965. He is a member of the California Cattlemen’s Association. Judd Hanna, 44, of Etna, has been reappointed to the 10th District Agricultural Association, Siskiyou Golden Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2005. Hanna has been an adjunct English teacher at the College of the Siskiyous since 1999 and ranch manager and owner at Hanna Bros. Ranch since 1984. Lori Salters, 52, of Yreka, has been reappointed to the 10th District Agricultural Association, Siskiyou Golden Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2015. Salters has been director of the Siskiyou Afterschool For Everyone program at the Siskiyou County Office of Education since 2010, where she served as area liaison from 2006 to 2010. She was front office staff at Yreka High School from 2004 to 2006, a clerical and billing support worker at Mountain Valleys Health Centers from 2001 to 2002 and a confidential administrative assistant at Gazelle Union Elementary School from 1992 to 2000. Charles Coleman, 59, of Redwood Valley, has been reappointed to the 12th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Empire Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2008. Eric Crawford, 47, of Ukiah, has been reappointed to the 12th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Empire Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2011. Clyde Peter McNamee, 63, of Fort Bragg, has been reappointed to the 12th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Empire Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2015. McNamee was an assistant executive director at the California Postsecondary Education Commission from 2007 to 2008, a senior project manager at the California Little Hoover Commission from 2004 to 2007 and an executive director at the California Employment Training Program from 2001 to 2004. Virginia “Ginger” Pohlson, 73, of Willits, has been reappointed to the 12th District Agricultural Association, Redwood Empire Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2011. She was a recreation employee at the Brooktrails Township Community Services District from 2000 to 2004 and a hairdresser from 1961 to 1991. Virginia Black, 71, of Browns Valley, has been reappointed to the 13th District Agricultural Association, Yuba-Sutter Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2012. Fue “Ricky” Vang, 48, of Clovis, has been appointed to the 21st District Agricultural Association, Big Fresno Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2012. He was principal at the Academy for New Americans from 2006 to 2008, a guidance learning counselor at Buchanan High School from 2005 to 2006 and instructional coordinator at Bangkok Christian College from 2004 to 2005. Lee Haydu, 67, of Del Mar, has been reappointed to the 22nd District Agricultural Association, San Diego County Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2015. Haydu served as mayor of the City of Del Mar from 2013 to 2014 and was an administrator at Paul J Haydu, M.D. from 1986 to 2014. She was deputy mayor for the City of Del Mar from 2012 to 2013, where she served as a member of the city council from 2010 to 2012.
