Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:

 

 

Hal Geiogue, 74, of Sacramento, has been reappointed to the California Student Aid Commission, where he has served since 2012. Geiogue was chief consultant to the California State Assembly Education Committee from 1995 to 2002 and served as assistant state treasurer at the California State Treasurer’s Office from 1991 to 1995. He was principal program analyst in the California Legislative Analyst’s Office from 1975 to 1990, where he was a higher education consultant from 1967 to 1975, and a budget analyst at the California Department of Finance from 1965 to 1967. He earned a Master of Public Administration degree in government from California State University, Sacramento. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Geiogue is a Democrat.

 

Adrienne Go, 52, of San Francisco, has been appointed to the California State Summer School for the Arts Board of Trustees. Go has been associate general counsel at eBay Inc. since 2007, where she was senior director from 2005 to 2007. She was a deputy city attorney at the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office from 1996 to 2005 and an associate at Morrison and Foerster LLP from 1988 to 1996. Go earned a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Go is a Democrat.

 

Alexander Cruz de Ocampo, 36, of Los Angeles, has been appointed to the California State Summer School for the Arts Board of Trustees. Cruz de Ocampo has been a senior consultant at Saban Capital Group Inc. since 2015, where he has held several positions since 2002, including director of government affairs and senior program manager. Cruz de Ocampo was managing director at the Saban Family Foundation from 2011 to 2014 and special assistant to the president of television at Castle Rock Entertainment from 1996 to 2001. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Cruz de Ocampo is a Democrat.

 

Lilia Gonzales Chavez, 62, of Fresno, has been appointed to the California State Summer School for the Arts Board of Trustees. Gonzales Chavez has been executive director at the Fresno Arts Council since 2011. She was a program officer at the San Joaquin Valley Workforce Funders Collaborative from 2009 to 2011 and a field representative in the Office of California State Assemblymember Juan Arambula from 2006 to 2009. She was principal administrative analyst at the Fresno County Administrative Office from 1997 to 2006 and executive director at Arte Americas from 1987 to 1997. Gonzales Chavez is a member of the League of Mexican American Women. She earned a Master of Arts degree in administrative leadership from Fresno Pacific University. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Gonzales Chavez is a Democrat.

Nicholas Bruno, 60, of Moreno Valley, has been appointed to the 46th District Agricultural Association, Southern California Fair Board of Directors. Bruno has been president at Bruno Farms Inc. since 1991. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Bruno is a Republican.
