Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.
Joan Hancock, 62, of Sacramento, has been reappointed to the California Contractors State License Board, where she has served since 2007. Hancock has been owner at Insight Consulting since 2010 and at Joan Hancock Construction since 2007 and principal at Her Land and Co. Construction since 1983. She served as a law clerk at the Sacramento County Public Defender’s Office from 1980 to 1982. Hancock is a certified mediator and earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Lincoln Law School of Sacramento. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Hancock is a Democrat.
Frank Schetter, 68, of Sacramento, has been reappointed to the California Contractors State License Board, where he has served since 2011. Schetter has been chief executive officer at Schetter Electric Inc. since 2006, where he was president from 1983 to 2005. He is governor of the National Electrical Contractors Association and a member of the California Construction Industry Labor-Management Cooperation Trust. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Schetter is a Republican.
Dev GnanaDev, 65, of Redlands, has been reappointed to the Medical Board of California, where he has served since 2011. GnanaDev has been a clinical professor of surgery at the Western University for Health Sciences since 1995, an associate professor of surgery at Loma Linda University since 1993 and chairman of the Department of Surgery at the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center since 1989, where he was medical director from 2000 to 2012. He has been president and chief executive officer of the California University of Science and Medicine since 2012. GnanaDev was president of the California Medical Association from 2008 to 2009. He earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Kurnool Medical College. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. GnanaDev is a Republican.
Sharon Levine, 69, of Palo Alto, has been reappointed to the Medical Board of California, where she has served since 2009. Levine has been associate executive director at the Permanente Medical Group of Northern California since 1991, where she has served in several positions since 1977, including chief of pediatrics, chief of quality assurance and physician-in-charge at the Fremont Medical Center. Levine was a staff pediatrician at the Georgetown University Community Health Plan Inc. from 1975 to 1977. She earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Tufts University School of Medicine. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Levine is a Democrat.
Michael Feinstein, 66, of Coronado, has been reappointed to the Osteopathic Medical Board of California, where he has served since 2012. Feinstein has been Western regional clinical dean at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine since 2006 and a physician at the Encompass Medical Group since 2000. He was a physician at the Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group from 1998 to 2000, at Family Practice Associates of San Diego from 1978 to 1998 and at Oakdale Family Practice from 1976 to 1977. Feinstein earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
