Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.
Lona “Grace” Koch, 50, of Elk Grove, has been appointed deputy director for finance and administration at the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, where she has served as special advisor to the director since 2012 and held several positions from 1989 to 2006, including program manager and deputy director of emergency operations, planning and training. She was chief of the California Department of General Services Office of Strategic Planning, Policy and Research from 2008 to 2012. Koch is a member of the Asian Pacific State Employees Association Board. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $125,664. Koch is a Republican.
Peter Mindnich, 61, of Rolling Hills, has been appointed to the California Library Services Board. Mindnich has been president of the Braille Institute since 2014, where he was executive vice president from 2011 to 2014. He was an executive intern at the U.S. Veterans Initiative from 2010 to 2011 and a clinical social work intern at St. Mary Medical Center’s Comprehensive AIDS Resource and Education Program from 2009 to 2010. Mindnich was managing director at BlackRock Inc. from 2007 to 2009, principal at Quellos Group LLC from 2001 to 2007 and a managing director at Goldman, Sachs and Company from 1985 to 1999. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Business School and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California School of Social Work. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Mindnich is a Republican.
Marlo Richardson, 36, of Playa del Rey, has been appointed to the California Contractors State License Board. Richardson has served as a police lieutenant at the Los Angeles Airport Police Division since 1999. She is a member of the Westchester-Playa Democratic Club Executive Board, Los Angeles African American Women's Public Policy Institute, California Women Lead and the Jack and Jill of America Foundation. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Richardson is a Democrat.
