Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:

Eric Johnson, 52, of Sacramento, has been reappointed to the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists, where he has served since 2013. Johnson has been president at ECOM Engineering Inc. since 1997. He was project engineer at Koch Chun Knobloch from 1993 to 1997 and project designer and engineer at Rex Moore Electrical Contractors from 1988 to 1993. Johnson is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Johnson is registered without party preference.

Karmdeep Bains, 44, of Yuba City, has been reappointed to the 13th District Agricultural Association, Yuba-Sutter Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2012. Bains has been co-owner at Coldwell Banker Commercial Valley Brokers since 2010 and owner and operator at Karm S. Bains Farms since 2006. He was farm manager at Didar Singh Bains Farms from 1992 to 2006. Bains is a board member of the California Agricultural Leadership Foundation, California Cling Peach Association, Prune Bargaining Association, Walnut Bargaining Association and Sutter County Board of Education. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Bains is a Democrat.

Erin Cucchi, 42, of Yuba City, has been reappointed to the 13th District Agricultural Association, Yuba-Sutter Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2015. Cucchi has been a crop insurance adjuster at Great American Insurance since 2013. She was a crop insurance adjuster at Rural Community Insurance Services from 1998 to 2013. Cucchi is former president of the Franklin Elementary School Parents Club, a co-community leader at the Franklin 4-H Club and a member of the Yuba-Sutter Fair Junior Livestock Auction Committee and the Sutter-Yuba Counties 4-H Council. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Cucchi is a Democrat.

Alice Munger, 43, of Yuba City, has been reappointed to the 13th District Agricultural Association, Yuba-Sutter Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2006. Munger has been an agricultural science teacher at Brittan Elementary School since 2016 and a rice farmer since 2000. She was a teacher at Wheatland Union High School from 2014 to 2016. She is a member of the California Agricultural Teachers' Association and the Yuba-Sutter Farm Bureau. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Munger is a Republican.

Jared Britschgi, 38, of Bakersfield, has been reappointed to the 15th District Agricultural Association, Kern County Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2017. Britschgi has been a grower representative at Pearl Crop Inc. since 2015. He was a technical supervisor at the Tejon Ranch Company from 2004 to 2015 and an irrigation supervisor at the Irrigation Training and Research Center from 2001 to 2004. Britschgi is a member of the Kern County Science Foundation, Kern Ag Foundation, Kern County Farm Bureau, California Association of Pest Control Advisers and the California Agricultural Leaders Foundation. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Britschgi is a Republican.

Blodgie Rodriguez, 49, of Bakersfield, has been reappointed to the 15th District Agricultural Association, Kern County Fair Board of Directors, where she has served since 2014. Rodriguez has been a realtor at Paramount Real Estate since 2012. She was a realtor at Walters and Associates from 2007 to 2012 and at MJC Properties from 2004 to 2007. Rodriguez was interim program director at the Kern County Youth Mariachi Foundation from 2001 to 2003 and a sales associate at the Bakersfield Californian from 1987 to 2001. She is chair of the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Rodriguez is a Republican.

David Torres, 56, of Bakersfield, has been reappointed to the 15th District Agricultural Association, Kern County Fair Board of Directors, where he has served since 2014. Torres has been a criminal defense attorney in private practice since 1988. He served in several positions in the U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 1999 to 2013 including chief legal assistance officer, deputy commander of the 78th Legal Service Organization, unit leader of the 78th Legal Service Organization, deputy commander of the 78th Legal Detachment Organization and retired holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Torres served in several positions in the California National Guard Army Infantry from 1985 to 1993, including rifle platoon leader and infantry executive officer. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve from 1979 to 1983 with the 4th Light Anti-Aircraft Missile (LAAM) Battalion as a non-commissioned officer and achieved the rank of Sergeant. Torres is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, California State Military Reserve, American Board of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the California Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Gonzaga University School of Law. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Torres is a Democrat.
