Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:
Ronda Paschal, 55, of Sacramento, has been appointed deputy legislative secretary in the Office of Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. Paschal has served as deputy secretary for legislation at the California State Transportation Agency since 2013. She served as deputy secretary for legislation at the California Business, Transportation and Housing Agency from 2012 to 2013 and as deputy secretary of state for legislative and constituent affairs in the California Secretary of State’s Office from 2007 to 2012. Paschal was associate vice president at the California Medical Association from 2006 to 2007 and a consultant and legislative aide in the Office of California State Senator Joseph L. Dunn from 1999 to 2006. She was an associate consultant for California State Senator Tom Hayden and the California State Senate Committee on Natural Resources from 1995 to 1999 and was business manager at V. John White Associates from 1989 to 1995. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $137,256. Paschal is a Democrat.
Caitlin Sanford, 33, of San Francisco, has been appointed deputy commissioner of the Division of Credit Unions at the California Department of Business Oversight. Sanford has been a user experience researcher for Mobile Financial Services at Facebook since 2016. She held several positions at Bankable Frontier Associates from 2011 to 2016, including director of consumer insights, acting director and associate. Sanford was a research intern at the World Bank, Brasilia, Brazil in 2010 and a program assistant at the United Nations Poverty-Environment Initiative in Panama City, Panama in 2009 and in Nairobi, Kenya from 2007 to 2008. She earned a Master of Public Affairs degree in economics and public policy from the Princeton University School of Public and International Affairs. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $131,544. Sanford is a Democrat.
