San Francisco, California - U.S. Customs and Border Protection and San Francisco International Airport today announced the expansion of Mobile Passport Control (MPC) to SFO. MPC is the first authorized app to expedite a traveler’s arrival into the United States. Eligible travelers submit their passport information and customs declaration form to CBP via a smartphone and tablet app prior to arrival.

Sacramento, California - On June 29, 2015, the Federal Bureau of Investigation obtained a warrant for the arrest of Matthew Muller, 38, of Orangevale, California for the alleged kidnapping of an adult female victim from a residence in Vallejo, California. The case remains an active, ongoing investigation by the FBI, the Vallejo Police Department, and Alameda County Sheriff’s Department. A sworn affidavit containing allegations against Muller was unsealed earlier.

San Francisco, California - Omar Ahmad was sentenced to 63 months in prison for coercing and enticing two underage boys to engage in prostitution, announced United States Attorney Melinda Haag and FBI Special Agent in Charge David J. Johnson.

Sacramento, California - After a three-week jury trial, a federal jury found Olga Palamarchuk, 45, of Rancho Cordova; Pyotr Bondaruk, 44, of Sacramento; Vera Zhiry, 35, of Sacramento; and Peter Kuzmenko, 37, of West Sacramento, guilty of conspiracy to commit mail fraud, related to a mortgage fraud conspiracy. Palamarchuk and Bondaruk were also found guilty of making false statements to a financial institution and money laundering. Zhiry was also found guilty of money laundering.
