Washington, DC - 2017 has been an exciting year for Food Tank! We held Summits in Washington, D.C., Boston, and New York City, traveled the world speaking at events, worked on the forthcoming book Nourished Planet, and met many of our members and readers in person! We hope you enjoyed a few of the more than 500 articles produced by our research staff. We’re also looking forward to seeing what 2018 will offer. As a sneak peek, we will be doubling our number of Food Tank Summits, quadrupling our research staff, and rolling out new membership benefits including exclusive Facebook live chats that I will be hosting. Swift Beef Company Recalls Beef Stew Products

Washington, DC - Swift Beef Co., doing business as JBS USA Food Company, a Cactus, Texas establishment, is recalling approximately 4,702 pounds of beef stew product that may be contaminated with foreign matter , specifically plastic and metal, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

Richardson, Texas - A needy, 78-year-old widow in Richardson, gathered her husband's clothing and donated it to a local thrift shop run by Jewish Family Services but she apparently did not check the pockets of an old pea coat. But, a worker in the resale shop did and found four envelopes containing a total of $17,050 says the Association of Mature American Citizens.
