Washington, DC - The President today spoke by phone with President Xi Jinping of China to coordinate efforts in responding to North Korea's January 6 nuclear test. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the complete and verifiable denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Both leaders also conveyed that they will not accept North Korea as a nuclear weapon state.

After reaching 10 percent in 2009, the unemployment rate has now fallen to 4.9 percent -- even as more Americans joined the job market last month. So this is the first time that the unemployment rate has dipped below 5 percent in almost eight years. Americans are working.

Imperial, California - The County of Imperial has been notified by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) that three airlines have submitted proposals to provide air travel services for the Imperial County Airport through the Essential Air Service (EAS) program. Due to the emergency nature of the Request for Proposals (RFP) released by DOT just over two weeks ago, the public has until February 25, 2016 to review and submit comments relating to the proposals.
