Washington, DC -  The American-Made Solar Prize competition is underway and ready for your bright ideas to spur the next wave of U.S. solar technology innovations. This $3 million competition gives competitors access to a growing network of mentors and resources, helping to rapidly transform innovative ideas into prototypes ready for industry testing.

On Wednesday, July 11 at 4:00PM ET, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will host a webinar detailing the role of competitors in the Solar Prize and how entrepreneurial individuals and teams can improve their chances for success. Register for the webinar.

The competition is comprised of three successive contests and this webinar will walk you through how to participate in the first contest—the Ready! Contest—and explain the competition rules in detail. The webinar will also explain the benefits of participating in Ideation on HeroX, an online platform that can be used to crowdsource knowledge, inspire competitors to work on specific challenges, and to propose potential solutions to these challenges.

While there are ample opportunities for businesses, incubators, and labs to provide support to competitors through the competition’s American-Made Network, this webinar will focus only on the individuals and teams competing in the competition.
